Why are you a conservative?

why are you against immigration

I'm not, the US should accept as many high skilled/highly educated immigrants as we can. We should offer an easy path to citizenship to every international student who comes here to study.

I am opposed to low-skill education from the developing world because: 1) Low-skill work is slowly, but surely, drying up in the west... Most of it will be off-shored or automated in the coming years/decades. 2) As a consequence of number 1, inviting tens of millions of low-skill uneducated people into the country is a recipe for overburdening, if not downright destroying our welfare state in the future since many, if not most of those people will become dependent upon the state to get by when the low-skill jobs they depend on no longer exist.
