Not really, no. I mean people are correct that creating an environment where there's only one platform to make games for, will prevent the splitting up of development resources, but it also means that the people that until now focused on handheld games, will have to deal in completely different dimensions now, unless they just want to make their games smaller downloadable titles. Just think about how unprepared a company like Gamefreak is to make a fullfledged Pokemon title on a machine that's stronger than the Wii U, when at this point they are making games that aren't even very technically impressive on 3DS.

Rumors have the machine being weaker than the X1, so I'm questioning how much western third parties will be on board with this unless it gets off the ground really well.

Also I'm worried about battery life of the NX when used as a handheld and quite frankly I'll believe Nintendo won't try to focus on a stupid gimmick with this when I see, cause they apparently can't help themselves when it comes to that.

To put it quite frank, I still don't believe that Nintendo "gets it" and they will have to convince me of the opposite.
