Why are there so many LOL players switching to dota2 recently?

Pendragon still works for Riot and he is the biggest betrayer in history. He tried to destroy Dota several times which created a lot of the hate for LoL in the Dota community. After taking down dota-allstars.com, ruining everything for the huge dota community, he put up an ad for LoL with propaganda against Dota. With the forum locked away, he also took all the ideas from the dota boards and implemented them in LoL with Guinsoo. Basically the Dota rejects became what LoL has become today. For example there are people mad at Pendragon because he stole the idea of Teemo and Rammus from those forums.

We thought all that dota history was lost, until Pendragon decided to make it available for years after the fact. It was a publicity stunt for him to try and redeem himself, but it backfired for him. It only proved more of his treachery, and finally the two communities could settle their differences and both direct their hate towards Pendragon instead. This is why Dota players stopped hating on LoL as much as before, but most LoL players still get flamed to this day thanks to Pendragon.

He tried killing Dota a second time by claiming copyright issues, but Valve and Blizzard settled it by giving the Defense of the Ancients trademark to Valve. Another backfire in Pendragon's face. Pendragon had every intention of ruining it by trying to remove dota from dota 2's name with this tactic. Seriously, screw that guy. He didn't know that a bunch of older Blizzard employees now work at Valve (some of the guys that worked on WC3) and that they actually have more influence via seniority to ask for a reasonable settlement in Valve's favor. Blizzard even updated wc3 to fix some dota 1 bugs, which is a testament to show how connected and friendly these companies are. So thankfully Pendragon lost twice and dota still lives after 12 long years!
