you can have your own opinion but at a certain point you need to be extremely careful. pedophilia is the penultimate slander. its also an incredible opening for manipulation. populists thrive on it because it pushes a frightening majority of the population into hypnotic shock and primitive vengeance fantasies. i dont even want to know how much damage the great moral panic of the 80s about satanic ritual abuse did to real victims. Coincidentally the most credible pedophile ring among powerful politicians in the west (talking the elm guest house stuff) got covered up at the peak of that particular moral panic. i think it made it significantly more easy to do so.

its a time where we learned a lot about "false memories". a lot of lifes got ruined because therapists got so enthralled & invested in confirming the unthinkable that they went suggestive and we ended up with hundreds of cases where it was all based on fabrications. human memory is pretty scary.
