I was assaulted in Riverwest Monday morning by an unknown man. This is what happened.

It was not the first thought. My first thought was that the guy was the father, boyfriend, or interested in the woman. That's why I asked the mom if she knew him and one of the reasons why I initially didn't want to call the police. I thought I might have been in the wrong.

Like if it was his son would you blame him for some random ass person getting up in his face, pissing him off a little bit?

I would have expected him or the mother to end the interaction peacefully first or give me a chance to leave and not come back, but no I wouldn't blame him for being upset.

When your mind jumps to racism just because someone of a different race messes with you, you are the racist.

That's actually my point. The other explanations for his actions have so far been denied or rendered unlikely. What seems possible is that he assumed I had bad motives, which it was obvious to him and the mother that I did not. There was no reason for him to assume I had bad intent, other than my race. He could have just been over protective as well, as you said.

I mean if you look at my post, I'm just looking for answers and wanting to talk about it and explore the issue a bit. I'm upset about the experience, but I'd rather be safe than get revenge or shame the guy.
