Australia is no different to America when it comes to people of colour - Des Headland

So this might be a controversial take, but I think in a way we're actually worse than America. Reason being I believe our level of racism is similar to America but we have much higher standards against police brutality for the rest of the population. The relative difference in treatment is actually greater than over there.

We just don't have stories like Justine Diamond, a white Australian who was shot by the Minneapolis Police after approaching a police car after calling the police. The American Police sadly have many stories like this where mistakes are made with incredible consequences.

Complaining about it is one thing of course, finding a resolution / solution to this problem is another. I'm no expert on this, nor will I presume to tell communities I'm not a part of what is best for them. I will say though that the easiest thing that we all can do as a general population is care.

Lets all actually listen the next time someone like Goodes speaks out.
