The ball dominant CP3 only had a usage rate of 24.3%.

What people dont realize is one of the complaints regarding CP3 is sometimes he can be a little too passive. Let Blake Griffin run the offense too much fo rstretches while standing in the corner back in LAC. Not look to assert himself enough and attack enough etc for stretches.

If James Harden has it going CP3 is not going to be the type like "Nah gimme the ball I aint just standing here to watch you work".

Likewise Harden can spot up and play off the ball well.

These two guys both wanted to play with each other and knew all these things. Now issues will come up they dont anticipate but the concerns are overstated.

What I worry more about is

a) CP3 deliberately plays at a rather slow pace. Much slower than what Harden has per NBA wowy. That's an adjustment here.

b) The personalities. CP3 isnt gonna tolerate Harden's lazy effort on D and Harden isnt a confrontational type but who will cause that stuff to get to him(ie the Dwight Howard dynamic where the problem was both were passive aggressive)

c) Harden has had some shaky playoff moments where he just flat out checked out like game 6 vs LAC(got lucky they came back with him on teh bench), 2012 NBA Finals and this year vs SAS. That again is not something that is going to go well with CP3 if they say lose to GSW and he does that in the elimination game. Remember CP3 technically can still be a FA next year; that type of thing can affect his decision on whether to commit
