Serious response: we feel it's lazy. Most of my karma is from commenting and other people from original content. We like originality, when someone takes another post so soon after it's original posting (especially one so viable) without atleast putting a comment giving the original credit: it feels like karma farming. Karma isn't worth anything but to show what you've contributed to the site but some people just want big numbers. Like I said just don't repost things like that. Give it time and if it's a common repost please stay away from it. We don't like reposts for their karma farming, BUT if it's unknown and you're trying to spread info good on you. In my case it was that you didn't give credit to OP and since OP is still extremely viable, being on the front page.
