House Republicans block Democrats’ effort to advance $2,000 stimulus checks pushed by Trump

Their argument that the reason they won't vote for it because of the excessive amount of foreign aid is pathetic. Don't get me wrong, I would understand cutting back foreign aid this year because of a struggling economy and wanting to help your own citizen. But to completely eliminate it is absolutely ridiculous. Its not like if they eliminated it that money would make its way to the American people. It'd probably just end up being another corporate bailout. Also adjusting the annual foreign aid allotment would require a second amendment since that's apart of the main spending bill atleast that's my understanding of it (someone correct me if I'm wrong). There's no guarantee even if you push the foreign aid amendment through that the 2K stimulus amendment would pass.
