Being an adult now, in hindsight, I've realized "cool parents" are just bad parents.

I am a big supporter of responsible drug usage and I sometimes still refer to things like tranquilizers as "horse tranquilizers." Sometimes it's just for conversational effect. It just makes it sound that much more reckless. But also it is because it has been instilled in me that drugs are bad. Even though I have now come to realize that drugs are not nearly as bad as I was made to believe as a child, the effects of this conditioning remain. And that's considering I have done tonnes of drugs, especially psychedelics which I feel have the worst reputation and most potential btw, but even then I am sometimes guilty of participating in the sensationalization (if that's even a word) of these substances. The fact of the matter is that drugs are much more useful to humanity than most of us realize. I hope we come to our senses in that respect. But for the time being drugs of all kinds get a bad reputation. Consider "Acid" for example. Some people only hear "acid" and automatically it's a terrible thing even if the substance is in fact acidic in pH thus its name. But the term has been demonized to the point where it has created generational divides on the matter. I can't ever tell my parents I have tried psychedelics like "ACID" because they would go ballistic thinking their son is a piece of shit druggie. At the same time, I wish I could because it is one of the single most beneficial decisions I have ever made in my life. But no. The media and other sources have made it in such a way that these drugs can't truly be talked about freely and I feel it is hindering our progress as society. I know I have strayed waaaay off topic by this point but I believe that psychedelics hold the key to the next step in human evolution and I hope that the topic is addressed sooner than later because the influence of psychedelic drugs can shift the human experience in such a positive manner. In my own personal experience, one session has counted for dozens of hours of learning through daily experience. Things that had previously gone under my radar heave now been dealt with. Issues that can seem so complex are shown to you so clearly. And that is what we are not allowed to experience. It's illegal. It's an embarrassment. But there is a reason for it. If usage of these substances was widespread, the entire system would collapse. It just wouldn't work. People would see.

But anyway, yeah horse tranquilizers just makes better storytelling.
