Actually I do think people would be happier. Especially if you go back to hunter- gatherer days. It’s literally what we evolved to do. There’s variety in what they did. Novelty has a significant impact on our well being. We didn’t evolve to sit in front of a computer 50+ hours a week in a windowless room and only see the sun 2 days per week for half the year.

Also, it’s silly to believe that it has to be one way or the other. Either we sit in front of a computer for 50+ hours a week or you live a harsh life in the wilderness. How about 35 hours a week. I’d love to have an extra 3 hours per day. It’s not the work I hate, it’s the quantity.
