I had this conversation with my nevermo dad. He said scriptures as a concept were arrogant. We've since come to the agreement that "pretending to know the will of God" and being thoughtful enough to read it are two different things. You being unfamiliar with the vast majority of events I refer to isn't a bad thing, but get off your high horse.
