I'm assuming this is about the playoff pick for Bama

If it's between OSU and Bama, I can see the committees decision..

OSU has 7 wins against unranked teams, with 1 loss (a bad loss at that) against unranked Iowa.

They have a 1 point win over Penn state, a good win over Michigan, and an ok win against Wisconsin. Michigan didn't beat any teams with a winning record this season, and Wisconsin had 1 win over a ranked team, Northwestern, at rank 20. There may be things I'm missing but I'm going off the top of my head here.

Now Bama has a win against Florida state, who was poised to be a very good team this season with a Heismen QB. Rank 3 at the time, their QB got injured which ruined their season. Bama doesn't have any losses other than Auburn, who destroyed Georgia prior (and may have won their 2nd game against Georgia if they didn't have so many injuries from their Bama game).

Finally, OSU barely got in last year over Penn state and then got crushed by Clemsen 39-0.

I'm not saying Bama had a great resume, but I also think OSUs resume isn't good either and you could argue either way.
