Brexit: How the campaigns were linked

This is nonsense. Skepticism/loathing of EU political institutions has been a regular feature of UK newspapers for as long as I can remember. At least 20 years. So much so I don't consider the UK populace to have ever been politically engaged with the EU.

The simple fact is, the EU's approach to law leans far more towards positive liberty than Britains legal tradition which leans more towards negative liberty. Hence the distrust of EU political institutions from the UK's judicial/banking elite.

The EU showed its true colours after the financial crisis with its handling of Greece and Italy - it put ideology before reality - something Britain will always be vehemently against.

Besides, big data used for targeted advertising doesn't relieve people of their free will, unless of course you want to promote the idea that it does in order to justify overturning a referendum result.
