Brother trying to extort me for gas money, please read details.

We got twice a week to 2 hour classes. I ask for nothing more.

I get the prevailing opinion seems to be revolving around it being the "polite" thing to do, but this isn't the 60s. Why should it be the role of the jobless one to further fill the pockets of the one with a job and lots of money? You don't know anything about the dynamics at play here: he is seriously selfish in all ways...only buys food/drinks/misc. things for himself..never shares anything...hoards things for himself and locks his room to ensure it's all his.

He doesn't do jack shit around the house. You want to talk about courtesy?! He gorges himself and leaves dishes strewn everywhere. I do dishes 95% of the time for my family, I clean EVERYTHING, I vacuum, all in all it adds up to easily 8 hours+ a week. I cook too, which he eats of course. He's all about himself, while I'm essentially selfless. I still am not convinced that I should have to pay a toll to ride THE SAME WAY HE IS GOING REGARDLESS. What is this, the River Styx and he is the ferryman?

Give me a break, I'm not going broke for this kind of selfish behavior. Again, as I said above: if I lived across town and he had to go out of his way, I would gladly pay him for the service.
