The build he made is terrible. Not sure what i3 you were looking at, but this will get you better than 60fps at 1080p. The only caveat here is that you have to buy the GPU from EVGA as it's a B stock (refurbished) card. You can buy it here. The power supply is far superior to the one he chose as well.
Use Linux in the meantime, I can't squeeze it into this build. This is the best bang for your buck.
