Bungie employee speaks out about current situation? Rapidly deleted post captured with screenshots.

Yeah, but they're in a bind. I've worked for companies where I thought decisions, strategies, products, etc. were garbage and terrible mistakes. I've looked at leadership and wondered if they were insane or just high on Adderall. I've even voiced some of these opinions to fellow employees, who wholeheartedly agree.

BUT...

I've also signed NDAs that preclude me from discussing any of it outside of the company. Some NDAs go as far as preventing you from even acknowledging (bad or good) certain things outside of the company (like, for example, how Bungie devs complain about inefficient tools... I'm shocked they're able to even discuss that).

I can nearly guarantee you that every BWU has to get signed off by Deej's boss, an Activision PR person, and possibly 2-3 additional people at each company whose interests are represented or affected, especially in the wake of Luke Smith's "throw money at the screen" debacle. Any whisper of anything that could violate NDAs is probably removed long before that. By the time it's done with the gauntlet, you get the sanitized, vague updates you see today.

Bungie is a much larger company than before, and they have a publicly-traded publisher holding the purse strings. Activision can make or break their success on a whim, and I'm sure it's held over their head in closed-door meetings that only maybe 10 people on the planet are privy to. I get the sense that the studio heads at Bungie miss the halcyon days of being able to say or do what they want, and are frustrated about it. But they also have to be very careful about how they express that, or let that feeling be expressed by others. It's a tricky situation, and I empathize. The perils of success, one might say.

Bottom line, this whole situation will be forgotten about in a year. Those who are truly done with the game will have moved on, and new folks will have come to replace them. New content will have been released, and mistakes will have been made in releasing it and tweaking the game to support it. I just wish in the meantime people would shut up and focus on something other than crucifying the very people they rely on for the thing they seem to want the most. It's childish, and smacks of the toddler throwing a tantrum in the middle of a store until they get their way. I'm embarrassed to say I'm a part of that community, and this is the first time in the history of Destiny that I've felt that way.
