I have one, very good condition, I bought it new, $95 iirc. I will be listing it on Reverb shortly at an obscene price along with some... creative providence.
It's been my go-to for my live blues/rock set up, it is smooth. But I also have an original green Tube Screamer, early 2nd gen RAT, other stuff. If someone is willing to give me 500 bux or whatever for it, I won't miss it for very long. I play in heavy punk and dBeat crust bands anyways, I have a shelf full of various RATs, actually. If I sell this for decent money I'll probably get one of the Triple RATs or the other big new fancy one I think it's like every generation/version all in one with a extra Q knob to help dial in those mids.
Not to mention keeping it all pure ahem digital modeling.
Coincidentally, pretty much the same thing happened about a decade ago with the very RAT second gens, the wide, flat big box ones from the early 80's. I stumbled upon one in a pawn shop in like '88, I had never heard of them before. Took it home, fell in love and started snagging them up @ ~$60 a pop whenever I came across one used. Now they go for $500+.
My point being that they went up and never came back down.
