Chance the Rapper takes some shots at Joe Budden on stage.

I found Surf underwhelming coming off of Acid rap and CB was severely lacking for what I thought would be his greatest album yet since he his name by this point had obviously given him access to every resource under the sun.

Acid rap is one of all time favourite albums and I thought 10 day was pretty spectacular given the context of the album and the lowkey tracks on it which would always leave me unsure whether to be happy or sad. But maybe I'm a bit biased toward Acid rap and 10 day because I took my brother's ipod on holiday in the Summer of 2013 and Chance and Kendrick were the only artists he had except from a bunch of indie folk groups. So I literally had Chance's 2 albums and G.K.M.C (couldn't have asked for a better album to contrast with) on repeat all throughout the holiday and I felt like those 2 artists were my little secret since I was 14 at the time and their names were virtually unknown at the time. That summer was the first time I went on holiday with my father, and it was just us two in Morocco, which was different from the regular family trips to Japan. There weren't many hiphop fans at my school in London, my friend who know is as Kendrick stan as they come wouldn't even give Joey Bada$$ a listen because he thought badass was too corny.
