I’m a rising junior ChemE student and I can personally say I love our department. There’s around 100 students per grade level, which is a lot smaller than other departments so that means professors have more time to spend with you. From what older friends have said, junior and senior level classes are okay. We have one professor, Dr. B, who really likes to get to know us students and teaches senior classes.

Research is fairly easy to get at Rutgers. You can message professors privately or apply. I know a lot of sophomores, some freshmen, who are already involved with research.

There’s a lot of clubs. For specific ChemE clubs, there is AICHE, ChemE Car, and OXE. Then outside of ChemE there’s SWE, SHE, MEET, etc. so definitely an easy campus to get involved at
