I chose to be honest with a student to model boundaries.

I agree on the work/life balance thing. I am not planning to do live video lessons with any of my students. I may have them do flipgrid videos, but they can easily choose a neutral background for that (it will be in the directions) or use various filters/stamps to obscure parts of the video. That's actually something we've already done in class.

Of course we have been doing zoom meetings as staff. I set up a laptop in my dining room with nothing but a blank wall behind it. You can't see anything in my home - exactly how I want it. And luckily webcams don't capture the fact I haven't washed clothes this week because I haven't braved the public laundry room I have to use....
