Clearly a joint and not a sparkler.

Narcissistic? Nope.

Thinking that you have a relationship with the very creator of tge universe is not narcisistic? Yeah right....

If a father has 7 billion sons and daughters

False. He has one son and one daughter, Adam and Eve. And those didn't even exist.

If you pray to God and have a relationship with him

Again, narcisistic and arrogant to think god loves you more than the children wgo die of famin everyday.

From what I can tell, it doesn't sound like you've attempted that, so I don't expect you to understand.

Right, the old "you were never a true christian" deal. You greatest defense against outsiders

And no, we can't be certain that everything we read is true

But it seems like you are thouroghly certain the bible is the inerrant word of god.

they're told by multiple authors and backed up partially by historians around the world.

Few extrabiblical evidence exists for jesus. Almostt none for Exodus too.

If the souls of the world's population depend on one single person's ability to take humiliation and brutality and live a clean, perfect life ended with martyrism, I would admire that person.

But it didn't depend on him. It depended on god and he screwed up. Failed to convince most even after sending his own son who was also himself on a suicide mission. And if Adam and Eve didn't exist, where did original sin come from? Nowhere because it doesn't exist. In fact, god waited around 13 billion years just so that he could remove the supposed original sin. Why wait so long anyways?

Jesus had great moral views and was a just person

Budha also has great moral views. In fact, jesus sais that you should abandon your whole family for god. Christian family values much?

I'm not saying the horrible people stopped, but after Jesus came, everyone knew right from wrong.

And before jesus, they also knew right from wrong. This is what I mean, you bullshit yourself just because you want to support a certain belief.

Your argument is childish and silly.

Yours is worse.

You assumed I wasn't aware of the horrible things the Catholic Church has done?

And you think I said or thought you weren't. I didn't say nor implied you were. The fact is, jesus' mission failed.

Jesus didn't come so humans could be religious - they already were.

That was never my point. Jesus come to take the original sin from us. He didn't quite succeced I see.

Jesus came to provide the truth about his father.

And he didn't have to die for that.

I expect that God would be pissed at the humans.

I thought god was all loving and forgiving. If he is so good, how can he get pissed?

Reading through the Bible itself, you'll learn about people who directly disobeyed God's voice or had no faith in him even when it was heard.

And the bible is not a good source for that as that could clearly be invented. And why the hell don't those miracles happen with the same regularity they used to? Has he forgotten about us.

When studied, the Bible makes more sense. If you don't take the Bible seriously, I can't really expect it to make sense to you.

When studied, the bible reveals many inconsistencies and direct contradictions. And with so many interpretations of it, how do you know which one is correct?

Islam is a religion of peace. People have twisted it for political power, just like they have for any other religion or "good deed."

Exactly. But the fact also is, the qu'ran has several verses on killing people of other faiths and even puts women at a lower level than man. Just like the bible, you can cherry pick whatever you want just to try to support your own belief. Be honest with yourself for a second and think.

My morality was not founded on the Bible, but God. Sure, I had a sense of it before I became a Christian, but it's been refined by who I believe God to be and who I believe Jesus Christ to be.

You do realize that my religion isn't hurting you, right?

Irrelevant. It mentally hurts you and affects other people, specially when you lie simply to try to support your own belief. That's the problem.

That it doesn't even need to apply to you if you choose to ignore it? That if I wanted to cherry-pick parts of the Bible (as opposed to using my faith to justify my arguments, which I'm allowed to do and encouraged by the Bible to do) I could. It's MY religion, MY faith. Yes, I'd like to share it with whomever i can, but I obviously am just frustrating you. I'm sorry you feel so strongly against the Bible, but my religion can't be described on pen and paper, or through the internet. I'm guessing that you also don't believe in ghosts, or the supernatural - but I, because I have faith in God, believe that absolutely anything is possible if he makes it so. We have different views, and that's unfortunate. You definitely aren't acknowledging any of the accurate points I'm making, which is also unfortunate. But life goes on.
