Close-set eyes and big/small lips difference

I don't have close set eyes but my midface looks longer-ish because of my lips so this might be useful and apply all the same since close set eyes also makes your midface look long. I think it's debatable whether she has close set eyes or not, I think if she were facing the camera straight on they would look regular distance but alas.

The picture on the left makes her eyes seem more balanced because it shortens her midface for sure. You know the illusion of two objects being the same height looking different heights depending on their difference in width? The object that is thinner seems taller and the wider one seems shorter side by side. This is usually illustrated vertically, but the same thing is going on here horizontally. The thinner lips don't only shorten her midface, but they also seem wider.

My lips are both the same size, they aren't think but they also aren't thin. However, they're not as horizontally gifted as they are vertically so it looks to narrow for my face and by extension thicker than they really, lengthening my face. The only way I've found to counter this is by applying lipstick *only* on my top lip. This cuts the horizontal length of my lips by half and of course makes my midface not seem as long. I know it sounds a little weird but I really looked awful using lipstick on both my lips.
