So the fact that it was illegal is another part of the problem. When something is illegal, people are likely to look down upon you doing it and the culture is less in your face. That is why many may still think worse on someone for smoking than for drinking. I would not be surprised if you see a similar culture to alcohol around weed in the future where it is looked upon more positively in the public eye, advertised more, and people pressure each other to do it more. Even growing up, pushing each other to drink or do something was not isolated to alcohol. There are definitely times where someone isn’t in the mood to smoke and others encourage and pressure them.
