When I refer to nationality in the post, I'm referring to strong feelings of nationality mostly.

Nationalism:

1: loyalty and devotion to a nation especially : a sense of national consciousness (see CONSCIOUSNESS sense 1c) exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups

This is one and the same.

[climate change] has 0 affinity with the national pride a person feels.

If your nation is the top leader in climate change efforts, you can be proud of the nation in regards to its efforts. Likewise, if your nation is arrogant with a leader, and your nationalism is rooted at following your leader, your nationalism is linked to their decisions & policymaking.

It has been said before. Trump leads his party with a nationalistic rhetoric. A vast plurality of his supporters also follow blindly on this nationalistic rhetoric. His statements of climate change denial, xenophobia, etc are all linked to his nationalistic rhetoric and his nationalistic voter base.
