Community: Any ideas you'd like to see the sub try out?

I recently came across /r/stims by just hitting the 'random subreddit' button. After having a huge spinal cord tumor removed in January 2012, leaving me partially paralyzed (almost all feeling, and can walk a little if I have a walker or canes), I was prescribed a massive daily dose of Gabapentin (Neurotin, an anticonvulsant for nerve pain), Baclofen (muscle relaxer), and tizanidine (muscle relaxer).

I would sleep for 18 hours a day and still have a rough time staying awake in classes as a Sophomore/Junior in high school. The Gabapentin actually gave me ADHD, partially by slowing down my brain's processing speed by a significant amount.

After going from a straight A to straight C student, I was tested and prescribed Focalin. While the max daily dose approved by the FDA is 40mg, it has slowly creeped up to 80 now (40ER in morning, then two 20mg IR doses in afternoon/evening). While it is in no way perfect and bad for my health, having lost 30lbs, Focalin has been a life saver for me.

After just a week lurking here, it's already one of my favorite subs. There is such a sense of commraderie and just friendliness or like a sense of community that I appreciate. While I don't partake in any illegal stims, I don't have any room to judge at all and don't look down on anyone who does use them. It's none of my damn business.

I just gotta say it's been so cool to read posts that I relate to, which none of my friends understand (one of my favorites being the screenshot of a few dozen tabs open at once in Google Chrome, as that is a daily occurrence for me too). I do have one idea/feedback/comment:

Even though there are a lot of people like me who just use stims as prescribed but respect & don't judge those who don't, I think that some users could be turned off by the "scary drugs" part of it. Other subs have buttons on the side that let you view/block any combination of a half dozen post tags, so maybe if there were a way to just see posts about stims for ADHD or whatever, a wider variety & more diverse group would feel more comfortable here. I think that as long as a policy of respect were enforced, it could help a lot of people, even just with slowly breaking down any taboos/stereotypes that they may have. Just a thought though. Either way, it's still a great community!

(One more small idea would be to somehow, maybe with etsy, create some type of 'store' where people could sell whatever it is that they make, like soap or something, while on stims. Idk how though.)
