Conservatives sure love small government

The problem may be decreasing, but they’re still arresting about 400,000 illegals per year trying to cross the border.

Give me a rough estimate of how many of those don't make it across the border once the Great Wall of Texas gets built in this fairy tale land you live in. Is it going to stop 50%? 80%? Every single one?

Having millions and millions of people in the United States with no records, known identity, address, or family members is a huge safety concern. It causes a fuck ton of problems. But go ahead and keep ignoring the problem out of a false sense of moral superiority.

Safety concern to whom? I don't stay up at night peeing my pajamas about brown folks.

There are many legitimate reasons to look at curbing undocumented immigration, but even after you spend the far, far more than 5 billion it would take to build this thing, that's still only 35% to 40% of the undocumented people in the country. The majority of them are arriving on planes, on visas, and then they overstay the visas. You know, like Melania.

I’ve given you facts, and proposed solutions, and all you say is “no” without offering any alternatives. 5 billion is a drop in the bucket compared to our total budget, and any of those alternative solutions.

That you think this wall is gonna get built on 5 billion dollars is all the proof we need your "facts" are a joke. The US government is going to have to spend half that money or more on ED compensation payments and on defending lawsuits from private citizens fighting land seizures. Most of that money is going to be gone just to get the fucking land to build on in the first place. Oh, and what happened to the initial price tag? What was it on the campaign trail, 50 billion? Then 25 billion after he entered office? Now all of a sudden it's 5-7 billion? What, did they make massive leaps and bounds in wall technology the last three years?

That's the theme. And it's fucking ironic that you would say:

Btw, the only people who actually thought Mexico was going to cut a literal check for the border wall were dumbass liberals just looking for another talking point.

Because that's just you being cute. You fucking bought it, the whole red hat cult bought it. Now that the curtain gets pulled back and we all get to enjoy the stupid looks on your faces as you fight cognitive dissonance at the idea the president lied to you, while also trying to pathetically convince us that it was some sophisticated LARP joke on liberals, now you're having to deal with more lies. Well, let me go ahead and spoil the final one for you.

The fucking wall isn't getting built. It was never going to get built. It's the ultimate vial of snake oil, and even after years now of being shown over and over how impractical it is, how you're being lied to about its construction, about how effective it will be, about why we need it, you're still buying the con. The problem here is that the President seems to think he can just completely ignore Congress's constitutionally-delegated responsibilities to do as he pleases. But it's the idea that that's being attempted in the first place that's flagrant and offensive, because this is what's going to happen: by the end of this week, the first lawsuits will come down the pipeline against the ND proclamation. A lower court circuit will strike it down, the administration will appeal, it goes to the SC, and in a 5-4 split, the SC strikes it down. Trump and the Republicans get to pretend that it was the mean old Democrats that stopped them from building the wall, and you'll believe that to.

They had two full years of 100% control of the government to get this thing going, and yet... wonder why that is? Because they knew then even on the Eminent Domain lawsuits alone this was a non-starter. The wall was just a carrot they dangled in front of the faces of dumb fuckin' rubes like you, and in two years when it's time for them to run again, they'll tell you, "Oh, TRUST US, we were totally going to build a wall! But the Dumbocrat Libtards!"

So just go ahead of time and come up with whatever ridiculous justification you'll need to use to convince yourself you weren't played like an idiot while the rest of us have a discussion about the conman in the office thinking he can fuck around with executive power for fun.
