Cool chart showing horror movie body counts

Definitely agree that conceptually, it was never supposed to be a 'monster' movie, and and in it's original form it's not. But as it franchised, "lead cenobite" became "Pinhead" and his role in the world of horror films changed. Pinhead wasn't a "slasher", but he was decidedly a bringer of death, even if the films moved back closer to the original concept. Starting as something else, but moving to a Kreuger-esque parallel dimension killer, or something along the lines of Final Destination's "Death/Fate".

3 was clearly a mess. Turned it into the monster movie it was never supposed to be.

4 addressed the heart of the story and it's concept, but the execution was just baaaaad.

5 & 6 were a return to form in a lot of ways, maybe not the same gravitas as 1, but at least they had the right idea.

7 & 8 didn't seem like they were trying to keep to the original format, which probably wasn't a bad idea, and while they might not've been great, at least the 'meta' tack they took was interesting.

9 & 10 ... *sigh* ... When your lead of the past 20+ years bails out because your efforts are clearly a half-assed rush job to keep ownership of the property, you know you're asking for trouble. Honestly, I like these better than 3, but yeah, they're kinda rough.
