The current director of the CDC said that it's likely to gain a foothold in the United States and it's already out of the containment phase in China and into the mitigation phase, and the WHO has stated that it's too early to know if it's actually peaking yet or not. A number of epidemiologists including the former head of the FDA (albeit with a spotted record with regards to corporate influence) are predicting that it'll get worse before it gets better. This, believe it or not , constitutes evidence that it's still spreading that isn't from Reddit accounts or fake Twitter videos.

It's not a conspiracy (unless they've found a way to talk to viruses), but it'd certainly not just something to shrug off as if it is nothing.
