Coronavirus Mega Thread

The Covid transmission rate doesn’t matter. The death count is what matters. The vaccine isn’t here to prevent transmission, it’s here to prevent deaths. If anything you are more likely to get the virus when you get the vaccine because many people feel immune. At some point we have to realize that mild Covid or asymptotic Covid is the new normal. Herd immunity is exactly what the vaccine is trying to achieve, not a cure. If we never open up, we can never achieve herd immunity, and people will continue to use the Covid transmission rate as an excuse to close down entire cities. If I have Covid asymptotic and am quarantined at my house, it shouldn’t affect whether my local schools reopen. Especially when I’m not in contact with those areas either.
