Curious: Do you drink in front of your parents?

I made that mistake precisely once since I started drinking. One night while my mom was visiting from out of town, she said she was fine if I had one of my best friends over because we were both going through shitty breakups and wanted the comfort of one another. So she and I had a lot of wine and a good amount of vodka as well. She handles her alcohol better than I do because I only recently started drinking (I avoided it in high school because it made me sad), but I was just gone. And when I'm drunk, I'm a chatterbox, and I have no filter. I have no memory of this night, but my mom made sure to fill me in the next morning.

I told my mom how I lost my virginity in gruesome detail, how the tube of cookie dough I was eating was "gonna be the only phallic thing in my mouth now that [ex] is out of the picture", and how I was okay with my breakup because my boss "looks like a hot human incarnation of what I imagine Satan looks like" and how I was glad I was single so I could try to make moves on him. I proceeded to lay on the couch for an hour, not talking to anybody, but laughing to myself every few minutes about whatever I thought was funny (nobody was really sure). We then tried to play Mario Party together, but I could not stop laughing long enough to actually partake in the game. I'm usually exceptionally good with in-game insults, but the best I could come up with that night was looking my brother dead in the eye and saying, "You know, you shit." We cut the game short and my friend was sober enough by then to drive home. I made my way upstairs and slept for twelve hours. And then the next morning, my mom, my brother, and my friend were all making fun of me for not being able to hold my alcohol. They still do several months later.

TL;DR - Not anymore.
