Baby shower complete. No games, just breakfast and gifts. My sister who has two tots (gave birth to her latest on Christmas so we were pregnant together for a couple weeks…) explained the use of every gift she got them in detail, which was boring, unpleasant, and seemingly unending.

Party finishes and I go to leave and my mom comes to give me a hug and to say she knew how hard that was for me. I shook her off and left - you can’t call me a dick and berate me for not wanting to attend and then try to be emotionally supportive after I go through the whole thing grinning and bearing it.

I suppose now that that drama is over I wait and hope to ovulate by Monday and then wait for their baby to arrive and my due date to pass and start the journey of TTC without all of that hanging over my head and nervously approach a year of trying.
