Daily Headphone Purchase Advice thread (2016-04-09)

Budget - Around £100-150 GBP. Must be easily available in the UK.

Source - My laptop running Apple Music.

Requirements for Isolation - None at all really. Chances are they'll never leave my desk in my bedroom. I prefer IEMs for anything out the house. ** Preferred Type of Headphone** - Full sized over ear. Must be comfortable for 5-6 hours or there is no point. ** Preferred tonal balance** - I like balanced but a bit on the warm side. My current IEMs, Philips SHE9105BK, have a lot of people saying there is no bass but I found them to be quite bassy. I definatly like bass though but I wouldn't say I'm a basshead.

Past headphones - Mainly an IEM guy. I like the 'openness' of the Apple earpods but the highs just aren't there. I had loads of Klipsch IEMs (S3, E1) which I really liked. Highs could be a bit bright sometimes but I found them sooo comfortable. The Philips SHE9105BK which I use now are by far the nicest sounding. I like the ballanced sound they have but if there was a little more punch in the low end, that'd be great. The only 'cans' I have are some Razer Kraken 7.1s which are only used for skype. They sound worse than the free apple earbuds.

Preferred Music - I have quite a large range. I mainly listen to indie rock, HipHop/rap... and EDM/dance.

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I want something to use whilst I use my PC. I'm always listening to something. I want them to be comfortable to hours, sound great and not break after a few months. I really like the look of the BeyerDynamic DT line but I'm having dificulty picking the right one. Will I loose a lot of low end with the open cans? Will the soundstage be significantly better with the open ones?

Also, if I can fit a DAC/amp in, which one would be apropriate? There's the Fiio E10K which looks nice but is a bit pricey if added with some cans.

Thanks a lot!
