People keep saying you may have a disease but did you know there is another ready your hands and feet do this?
Way back when it was believed that when you’re hunting for fish in a lake by hand (before fishing poles), your hands and feet were your most vulnerable body part. The wrinkling of your skin made it feel thicker and have stronger grip for different reasons. First was to hold your catch easier without it slipping through your hands, and so your feet can get better traction on rocks and the bottom of lakes. Have you ever noticed how slimy rocks can be around bodies of water? It helps climbing over the rocks with your next meal in your hands. It’s like built in grips on bottom of your feet.
The next reason was to fight off small predators on the water since they could mistake your toes for little fish/food. Have you ever noticed it kind of looks like the skin of an elephant? Your skin underneath the wrinkles actually thickens up so it’s harder to rip or cut so you don’t get hurt in the water.
Also, and the biggest thing I just wasted about 30 seconds of your life because none of that is true. I wanted to keep writing but lost interest halfway through. Damn it.
