Daily Sanity Thread (May 9): "Fuck, Marry, Kill"-- Travel Edition

Brazil edition:

  • F - Manaus. I've been several times and love the food, love the city center, love some of the surprisingly cool artsy hangout areas, loooooove all of the natural activities in the rainforest and Amazon River nearby. But I'm glad when I leave every single time, because of the heat, humidity, and overstimulation.

  • Marry - Sao Paulo. It's not the most beloved tourist city but it has pretty much everything! There are lots and lots of cultural activities, events and fairs going on all the time, very lively subcultures, really pleasant neighborhoods, retail & nightlife areas, and the fooooood. Nice natural areas not too far away too. Needs more parks though...

  • Kill - Salvador. I really hoped to love it based on its history, different culture, and hype, but I didn't get it. The historical center was photogenic and pleasant, but there are lots of nice historical European city centers tbh. Wasn't particularly interesting outside there. Beaches nearby are nice but there are hundreds (thousands?) of nice beaches in Brazil. I kept thinking I must be missing something, but I couldn't find anything else big online or in travel guides.
