Is the 'Dangerous Dog Act' still a thing?

Yes its still a thing. Poorly enforced because the act specifies four "types" of dog. Theres no official determinant of whether a dog is a "type" or not. Its judged by appearance or height/head size. DNA testing is not admissible to courts, the individuals who make the assessment on "type" are typically not accredited or qualified to do so in any way.

It's basically a vague law designed to punish working class people, despite more conventional breeds (ironically police or guard breeds) having similar if not higher bite rates. Seen plenty of stories of family dogs with no bite history whatsoever being seized or destroyed by their local council because doris down the road thinks it looks scary.

Used to walk my staffies around the block and have pearl clutches muttering to their children it was "a killing machine".... like mate the only thing this guy is killing is my custard creme stash!
