Data Shows Contraception Lowers Abortion Rates and Saves Billions, but Why Do Republicans Continually Fight to Deny Women the Right to Birth Control

I hate people reducing birth and motherhood to a host/parasite equation. Having a child should be a high point in someones life where the baby is wanted and loved and everyone is barfing rainbows because they're all so nervous and happy to be welcoming this new member of the family into the world.

When you start holding a womans body hostage and calling her a host and dehumanizing her you start turning the miracle of birth into a cruel and insidious thing and turning people against it. How can anyone be happy over the arrival of the baby that's taking away their rights, how can anyone joyfully plan their loss of bodily autonomy, how can anyone love the process by which they become less of a person?

If you want to turn women away from wanting to become mothers that is exactly how you do it. How about supporting the women who want babies instead, because the US is doing a piss poor job of that at the moment. That would be a much better use of societies time, money and energy than trying to force birth on the unwilling or incapable.
