Democrats' odds to win 2022 Midterms improve—Bookmakers

What the fuck are you talking about? Why are you bringing up Republicans at all?

My point is that the timing of this announcement makes it look like an attempt to distract from a pretty big foreign policy misstep. I watched the video of Biden's speech in Poland and read the White House statement clarifying that he was not calling for regime change. It looks pretty clear that he either said words that he didn't mean to say or there was a pretty big disconnect between the foreign policy advisors and the speech writers. Releasing a clarifying White House statement after a foreign policy speech is never a sign of good execution.

Then, a few hours after that happens, there's an announcement about a new domestic tax proposal. Do you really want me to believe that the two things are unrelated? Are you going to try to argue that, of course the plan for announcing a wealth-based minimum tax was always to announce it on a Saturday while the president was out of the country? Are you kidding me? It's pretty clear to anyone that's not self-deluding what's going on here. There's no number of racist GOP senators that can change that.

I'm glad Biden is president and that Schumer and Pelosi are controlling congress. But I'm not going to pretend that speech wasn't a misstep or that I can't see what they're doing to smooth it over.
