Why Diversity in Veganism Needs to be a Thing

I'll be checking out the Vegan Voices of Colour site. I read the article and I agree that the comparisons don't really serve to create discussion or thought, and personally I find them offensive, though I understand what the people saying them are trying to say (they want to highlight the suffering, but don't realize they often end up completely removing focus from the suffering by saying it). If you care about being able to connect with most people, I'm not really sure why you'd say things like that. But I'm not sure I really like the title of the article. "Why Diversity in Veganism Needs to be a Thing"? Maybe it's just me who finds that a little dismissive of all the different kinds of people that are a part of the community. I follow the vegan communities a lot, mostly several facebook groups of my current and previous country of residence. (Not the US) and there's people from all kinds of backgrounds that I see a lot. Of course more diversity is always a good thing, but I don't know why they'd chose a title to the article that completely erases all these people who are already a part of the community? I look a lot at the things uploaded on Youtube too, by vegans, and there's also a very great diversity there, I watch videos by people from many different countries, and backgrounds. I kinda wonder where you're looking if you don't think it's already "a thing." at least to some extent. I mean even from the vegans I personally know, half of them are from a different background than the majority of the country I live in.
