I just can't take it any more. Suspension of disbelief is essential for watching this show, but this is ridiculous. What's so much more painful is Peter Capaldi is an AMAZING doctor, and he gets such absolute garbage storylines to work with.
1 - Zygons have to capture someone to become them. Suddenly they can pull the image from you mind, because they're psychic now.
2 - You're ultra super special forces.... with senior citizens donning battle gear and going out on black ops. Not just granny kickass, but grandpa too, outside the church
3 - You're going in to fight a force that can look like anyone with no plan other than, "don't let them fool you!" Brilliant. No password, signal, secret handshake, just raw idiot power.
4 - Your mom can't remember your birthday. Definitely your mom, idiot. Oh, and she'll prove to you she's your mom, you just need to come in here with her first. That moment alone was just.... just too much.
5 - Director of ultra black ops top secret agency goes to investigate enemy stronghold, in her best ass-kicking pantsuit. Alone. Armed with a sidearm and incomprehensible gullibility, she'll surely get the job done! I mean, you just happened to stumble into the sole survivor of a massacre done by aliens that can look like anyone. What luck! Definitely didn't need that backup now that you've got Officer Alien... I mean Officer I-Survived-Somehow watching your back! Great reaction time with that sidearm by the way while she slowly "killed" you, wink wink. Though I'm quite sure we're going to be subjected to the easiest to see "twist" every written in the next episode.
6 - "It's a trap everyone" Screamed Seargent Secretary on a mission deep into enemy territory. "Shit, I guess I'm trapped now!" thought each highly trained spec ops soldier as they twiddled with their automatic weaponry and contemplated their impending death from large, lumbering targets that need to be within 2 feet of you to enact their magical powers to turn you into an electric toupee.
7 - How did my husband and son get to WhereverTheFuckIstan so fast? And how do they know I'm piloting this drone? Do they just wave at all the drones? How curious. Better disobey a direct order!
8 - Doctor Who seems to be in a continual state of apology to Tumblr for not making The Doctor female, so literally every everyone else must be at all times, especially anyone in the military! Or maybe Unit simply has a policy to only hire females and functionally retarded males.
I loved Doctor Who more than anything for so long, but much more of this and I'm out. How can you write stories this dumb? Did no-one say anything? How did this air?
I want to understand. I want to know that the actually clever TV series I love will be back one day.
