Does your love of serious, thought-provoking conversation ever make you feel isolated?

I wouldn't jump to the sexism conclusion, I've had to deal with the same BS as a guy.

One time I was explaining to someone that I don't like Apple because they force you to use so many proprietary accessories/software/etc... And they respond, "OOOOOH. Propriatapapitabooboo!! Look at me im smart!"

I'm like, "Uhhh... Did you think I was being pretentious or something? That word is in common use these days, and there aren't any synonyms I'm aware of, it's not like I said 'zeitgeist' or 'paradigm shift' or something. That's the only word for that concept..."

I've had multiple interactions just as dumb as that. This person was probably around 42 and I was probably around 22 at the time.
