Donald Trump would have lost if Bernie Sanders had been the candidate

That's absolute bollocks. The EU decision was a legitimate one, you and I may not agree with it but it certainly doesn't show democracy as not being viable, the fact that business leaders, politicians and media moguls wanted one thing and the other thing is now happening shows that democracy is extremely effective.

Trump being president also doesn't show that. America's democracy does well at shutting out bad presidents, or ones who are too polarizing for the current political climate.

Look at Obama, he's spent the best part of 8 years chasing a few specific goals because he had constant opposition from the republican houses.

If anything Trump will show that democracy works really fucking well because unlike the ridiculous media campaigns claims, a president isn't a dictator. He can't do whatever the fuck he wants. His most batshit crazy ideas will be blocked and most of what he does get through will most likely be reversed in 4 to 8 years time and he'll go down as just another average president or a really shitty one.

But the idea that he, and he alone could ruin America is absolutely asinine.
