That doesn't always fit in to people's life path, though.

I'm a woman. I am trans. I spent a large part of my life genuinely trying to feel comfortable identifying male. Lived my life as such, looked and sounded as such, identified myself as such, and presented myself as such.

As far as I'm concerned, I was a guy then, even if I wasn't exactly the poster child for one and was deeply unhappy through most of the experience. To say otherwise feels too much like I'm ignoring the majority of my life so far, and not enough like what I'm actually doing - building a better, happier future for myself. It's a totally personal thing, and is from person to person.

But.. please consider how dangerously close your position here is to that of transphobe logic. What you're saying is a different framing of "You're always the gender you were born as/assigned."
