Because not every character needs to be a stereotypical Husband-o or Waifu aesthetic.

As someone who ONLY plays Waifu characters, I can understand your perspective. But you shouldn’t Alienate those who have the opposite taste. I hate Abigail in SFV, but there is actually a group of people in the FGC that actually like the Weird, over the top, crazy characters. And I respect it. Because without them it’d get boring and you wouldn’t get that juxtaposition you mentioned in the first place.

All the fighters are somewhat caricatures of their personality. You don’t like Luke’s outfit? Good. He’s supposed to be a cocky young-blood that gets underneath your skin. Juri is a psychopathic fighter that’s Chaotic Neutral and doesn’t obey societal standards at all. Falke and Ed are runaways/orphans that inherited psycho power. So them looking greasy makes sense because they’ve had no one to teach them hygiene.

Weird and over the top can be a good thing. After all it’s Street Fighter, not Beauty Fighter.
