They bring in the revenue to justify it, but it's a symptom of the corruption and conflation of historically successful academic philosophies. Educators can now be millionaires easier than ever now because of youtube, streaming, and educational courses from innumerable paid education sites.

What is broken is not the pathway to knowledge, but the mindset in western youth for what constitutes education, and what you get after receiving said education. Just because you pay to learn something does not mean you have competitive skills in the market. Just because you have competitive skills today, does not mean you will retain a competitive edge for the rest of your life.
