'Dune' wins in six categories at 2022 Oscars: Cinematography, Film Editing, Production Design, Original Score, Sound, Visual Effects

I have been interested in the sort of movies that are oscar condenders in years past. However the situation that the movie industry has been in in the last few years got me out of the habit, and I need some time to get back into the habit. So I confess that I only saw two of the best picture nominees this year, and I want to stop myself from being one of those people that feels strongly about the superiority of a movie, over competition that I have not even seen. I won't say that Dune is better than Coda on principle because I haven't seen it yet. It however wouldn't shock me if the situation of a sequel coming played a factor. The second part will provide some feeling of completeness (even given the fact that a third installment is planned) and it might make sense to hold off on a celebration of the undertaking until then.

Either that or Coda is just the better movie which is perfectly possible, and something that I'm open to as well.
