Dutch party wants to outlaw mosques, Islamic schools, Koran: Freedom Party says it wants to reverse the ‘Islamization’ of the Netherlands.

I think people are scared. We need better cultural assimilation of Muslims in all countries, and address the lower working classes concerns about what immigration means to them.

One of my friends supports Shariah law in all areas of the world. He doesn't want me, an atheist, to be killed [we've actually had this discussion], but he does want Shariah in the US. He knows that I live with a gay couple, and he doesn't care.

When we fence off people of similar thought we don't give them the opportunity to understand the other side. We just foster further distrust. In the United States, we even do this politically, where [saying this as a liberal] the liberals are the worst about it where many won't move into moderate or conservative communities. On the other hand, conservatives so often miss no opportunity to make it known that they don't welcome liberals into their communities. You can stand next to someone in a grocery store, or swim next to someone in a burkini, but that doesn't mean you're interacting with them.
