I envy porn performers

Next, and we're specifically talking about pornography here, but it is hard work. Regardless of the topic of the film, you're still shooting a film. There are long days, multiple takes, there's casting beforehand, there's editing the thing afterward. It's hard fucking work making sex look good.

I think that in all my hubris, I failed to realise this. As improbable as it sounds, I honestly just thought a lot of making porn was the talent showing up, having sex on camera, then going home.

Getting written up in magazines, or verified on Instagram, doesn't pay you anything.

It does. Maybe not directly, but brands/companies will want to work with them more if they have press coverage or a blue tick. More attention means more money for the brand/company.

And it doesn't really give sex workers anything tangible, either. It doesn't change the fact that their job is still illegal, their families likely disowned them for working it, and it doesn't change the fact that they don't have any other options, and if they did, they might not be doing sex work.

I know of someone who quit her degree to do porn. How is that 'not having any options'? She chose to quit her education and go into porn. Probably because she couldn't be bothered to learn because she would rather have instant fame and money than have to work towards a career.

And the fact that you don't give a shit, that an entire class of people can legally be prosecuted against, shows that you are a monster of a human being. That's the same attitude that racists have, and that nazis have, and that homophobes have. Oh, and by the way, you'd fit right in with those groups thanks to your views on sex work.

How dare you call me a Nazi. How dare you. What about feminists? They typically have a dim view of sex work. Are they Nazis now?
