But if it makes you feel better you are roughly the same age as my friend who is an astronaut . He has beat out many other friends and brilliant people I know for his spot. All of them career fighter pilots previous to the opportunity. Years of study, of tactical flying, of ground schools, of precise medical requirements (some beyond your control), of language training…..and they still haven’t been to space yet. He’s slotted to go soon, and we are all so excited, but long-winded to say that whatever you chose to do instead is probably far more rewarding to you at this moment. You could still be waiting to actually see space, or enjoy it from the earth with you fantastic family
