My friend and I were on BART (public transit system in Bay Area) in SF around 1:30 am on new years. My friend was on his phone trying to tell our ride to pick us up at another station in about 30 minutes but he couldnt hear what my friend was saying. Since we were underground you can assume it was because of weak signal strength but my friend was drunk so fuck common sense; he began yelling into his phone because he thought our ride couldnt hear him. Around the time he began yelling, this character entered our train. Imagine a huge polynesian Bane (minus the mask) wearing no shirt and just a windbreaker jacket. He hears my friend yelling and tells him to shut up. My friend, without looking, replies back with "nah, you shut the fuck up." Poly Bane grew furious and got in my friends face. Being the more sober of the bunch, I got in between the two of them and tried telling the guy to nevermind my friend, hes drunk. He then gets in my face and asks "you want me to get up in dat ass too?" I...I didn't know what to say so I just said theres no need for the party to stop because of a misunderstanding. He proceeds to take off his jacket and start flexing his trap and chest muscles. This guy was already huge but doing this made him appear even more larger and menacing. Then the worst thing happened...

people began pulling out their cellphones and recording what was going on.

thinking that the prerequisite for a fight had just been met, I clenched my jaw, tried standing as nonthreatening as possible and repeated what i said about not stopping the party. He didn't break eye contact the whole time. Then somebody put a glittery green Happy New Years! hat on him. He caught a glimpse of himself off the reflection of the window behind me and began bobbing his head, like there was music playing that only he could hear. He then relaxed his muscles and began...dancing. Then he started rapping as he walked away. Needless to say, I thanked the couple for putting the hat on him.
